The rose quartz cabachon gemstone is on a chunk of lepidiolite. Lepidiolite is a purple mica. Lepidiolite is firmer than most mica but has the shine of mica. The lepidolite is wrapped 21 gauge twisted sterling silver wire and is handcrafted by Diane Aiello. The wire makes galatic swipes across the front of the lepidiolite with silver swirls at the top and the bottom of the stone. The bail opens to 12 mm allowing this pendant to fit on most all size chains and even on to beads. The pendant measures 55 mm from the top of the bail to the bottom of the pendant. The rose quartz cabochon is 12 mm round. Diane has been wire crafting for 5 years and has been making jewelry for 40 years. Many of the gemstones used in her work were collected by her father from around the world over a 40 year year period. Many are local gemstones to the mountains of North Carolina and some of those have been mined in those mountains by Diane herself.
