This citrine sterling silver pendant is handcrafted by Diane Aiello. Citrine is used as a birthstone for December to replace the topaz. This is one of Diane's most recent pieces crafted while attending the William Holland School of Lapidary Art in April 2011. The wire technique incorporates wire wrap with wire sculpture. The gemstone is pear shape (or tear drop) and measures 18 mm hi x 14 mm wide. The pendant measures 40 mm from the top of the bail to the bottom of the pendant. The gemstone is a natural golden citrine. The contrast with the sterling silver is dynamic. The sleek square sterling silver wire is sculpted into a heart shape at the top of the pendant just below the bail and above the gemstone. The heart then gracefully wraps to the back of the gemstone forming a ribbon-like heart at the back of the stone. Two tiny swirls decorate the center of the open heart. The bail is 10 mm high and will accommodate a large omega. The design of the pendant will make it look equally exquisite for a small or medium link chain.
